Founded in April 1981, China People’s Police University (CPPU) is a key university directly under the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China. China Peacekeeping Police Training Center and the International Law Enforcement Cooperation School of the Ministry of Public Security also locate here. Since its founding, CPPU has been adhering to the goal of running a world-class police university with characteristics, high level and international influence. It strives to build a base for cultivating new type of police talents, a high-end platform for public security innovation capacity building, a main front for international law enforcement cooperation and exchanges, a United Nations regional peacekeeping police training center in Asia, and a state-level think tank on major strategic issues in the field of security.
CPPU started undergraduate education in 1985, and currently offers 20 undergraduate majors such as immigration management, police command and tactics, data policing technology, criminal science and technology, fire engineering, fire investigation, rescue command and technology, security science, and foreign-related policing. It has established 19 postgraduate training programs like law, public security science, public security technology, and cyberspace security etc. More than 120,000 high-quality police officers and fire fighting talents have graduated from here. CPPU boasts a number of national, provincial and ministerial renowned teachers, key laboratories, excellent courses and other high-quality education and training resources, resulting in a large number of internationally and domestically influential education achievements.
In line with the trend of globalization, CPPU has established pragmatic and stable cooperative relations with more than 30 foreign police academies such as the University of Krasnodar in Russia and the French National Fire Officers Academy. CPPU has provided trainings for more than 1,700 foreign police officers from over 80 countries (regions), contributing wisdom and strength to the international law enforcement and security cooperation.
