Beijing Police College is a full time regular college under the Beijing Public Security Bureau, with a history of over 60 years. Founded in January, 1984, the College grew out of the Public Security School of the Public Security Bureau of Beiping Municipal People Government in April 1949.
The College began to provide undergraduate education since 2004. The four-year degree programs of the college are designed based on the practice of capital police and possess distinctive police features. Currently, there are six undergraduate disciplines: Science of Criminal Investigation, Forensic Science and Technology, Science of Public Security, Science of Policing Related to Foreign Affairs, Science of Police Management, and Science of Traffic Management.
Located in the Huyu Scenic Area of Nankou Town, Changping District, the College covers an area of 800,000 square meters, with a building area of 180,000 square meters. The College is equipped with comprehensive teaching facilities and modern teaching methods, such as first-class labs of DNA testing, information analysis, trace comparison, and forensic photography, state-of-the-art gyms for police skill and tactics training and a library with a complete collection of books, by which we could carry out situational teaching, simulation teaching and distance teaching. Our college boasts beautiful environment, clean air, and good facilities, and provides favorable conditions for students and teachers to study and work here.
The College has been actively engaged in friendly communication and academic exchanges with police agencies from many other countries. With the development of our college and the promotion of scientific research, the College will constantly improve the scale of international communication and academic exchange in the context that the capital Beijing is gradually becoming a “global metropolis”.
The College has actively realized the core values of police force of “loyalty, service, justice and honesty”, the conception of “rational, mild, civilized and standardized law enforcement”, and the Beijing Spirits of “patriotism, innovation, inclusiveness and virtue”. With the goal of serving the Beijing Public Security Bureau and under the motto of “firmness, diligence, honesty and strictness”, our college actively promotes education for all-round development and made great efforts to cultivate specialized police talents with fine political values, qualified working style, solid professional foundation, healthy body, extensive specialized knowledge, good police skills and overall moral, intellectual and physical development. The college has sent about 40,000 graduates to public organs of different levels. Among them, there are heroes, models, experts, and leaders, including many major leaders of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. Therefore, Beijing Police College is hailed as the “cradle of capital police”.
