HANOI, Feb. 20 (www.cpd.com.cn) - Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi met with Vietnam's Minister of National Defense Ngo Xuan Lich in Hanoi on Feb. 19, 2021.
Zhao conveyed the greetings from Guo Shengkun,a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, and Chinese State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe.
Zhao noted that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialism neighbors, are a community with a shared future with strategic significance. Under the guidance of the important consensus reached by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, China is willing to work with Vietnam to enhance strategic communication and deepen pragmatic cooperation in border management so as to make the China-Vietnam border a “peaceful, harmonious, orderly and prosperous” model and making positive contributions to the continuous development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Noting that the China-Vietnam cooperation in law enforcement security and national defense is an important pillar of the relationship between the CPC and the CPV as well as that between the two countries. Lich said Vietnam is willing to formulate and perfect cooperation plan to enhance the cooperation in border management and combat cross-border crimes with China to consolidate the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
After the meeting, Zhao Kezhi and Ngo Xuan Lich signed an agreement on establishing a three-level law enforcement cooperation mechanism for border management and immigration inspection.
